Started as an offset of Toyota, over the last 13 years Scion became known for unconventional designs like the XB, the TC and the FRS giving a new take on sports cars, sedans and midsized vehicles. Inheriting the reliability and performance of its’ parent company Toyota, Scion’s were the second least expensive vehicle in terms of repair cost, second only to Toyota itself, making them one of the most affordable cars on the market in terms of repairs and service. Unfortunately in early 2016, Scion was discontinued and will be absorbed back under the Toyota banner while altering some of the more popular Scion models to continue production of them as Toyotas. This means that if you own a Scion, maintenance is going to require more astute mechanics familiar with the brand over its’ brief history and capable of performing the services that it needs to extend the life of the vehicle while maintaining the inexpensive and affordable repair costs that helped build the Scion name.
